Welcome To Banawa & Co.
Lauren Banawa is the founder and owner of Banawa & Co. Her passion for creating garments began at a young age when she crafted her first matching vest and pants using her mother’s upholstery fabric swatch books. Growing up with an interior designer mother who encouraged her creativity, Lauren spent many hours cutting up wallpaper and fabric samples. She was introduced to sewing by her grandmother at the age of six and has been dedicated to the craft ever since, holding a special place in her heart for her grandmother every time she sews.
Lauren holds a Bachelor of Arts in Costume Design and has worked as a Technical Costume Designer and Patternmaker for the Walt Disney Company. During her time at university and at Disney, she designed and created costumes for several local theatre and dance productions in Florida. Now, as a business owner, she transforms both her ideas and the visions of others into real-life wearable art. For Lauren, creating is a source of joy and fulfillment, and she is passionate about sharing that joy with others through her work.
